Principal Practice Areas
◇In addition to consultancy on general corporate matters, civil and commercial affairs, licensing agreements and antitrust laws, Mr. Toriyama has been advising on the following areas:
・ Various disputes over sale of houses (sale of dominion, lease), property management (general rental, fixed-term leasehold, fixed-term rental housing, etc.), new town redevelopment (rebuilding housing complexes), sublease, specific high-quality apartments, real estate trust, and other property projects
・ Intellectual property rights (disputes over patents, unfair competition, employee inventions, copyrights, or licensing agreement)
・ Disputes regarding liability of company executives (window dressing, dismissal, M&A, etc.)
・ Employment/labor (wage and retirement claims, sexual and power harassment, death from overwork, mental health, employers’ obligation to consider safety issues, so-called ‘disguised contractor agreements’ and wage discrimination cases, and unfair labor practices, e.g. control intervention, rejection of collective bargaining, etc.)
・ Securities (stocks, options, investment trusts, etc.)
・ Credit management (preservation and collection of claims, bankruptcy proceedings, etc.)
