Mr. Miura worked for KEPCO in the field of corporate law for a number of years.
KEPCO is a publicly traded company whose main area of business relates to electricity, and there are a number of KEPCO group companies. Hence, in addition to legal issues related to the electricity business, a variety of other legal matters arose. In the legal department of KEPCO, he was involved in legal affairs such as providing legal advice, reviewing agreements, and handling legal disputes including lawsuits. He also worked to promote compliance and other related matters in the fields mentioned below. He engaged in the aforementioned legal affairs work with the aim of achieving well-balanced resolutions from the perspectives of legal risk management, maintenance of corporate profitability, and favorable resolution of disputes. The areas in which he was involved included general meetings of shareholders, stock transactions, matters related to the board of directors, mergers and acquisitions, company reorganization, real estate, procurement of materials and equipment, credit management, the Anti-Monopoly Act, information technology, intellectual property, public law regulations (e.g. business acts, etc.), employment and labor affairs, accidents, and medical issues (KEPCO manages a hospital, which is rare for a public company.).
Looking ahead, he hopes to take on challenges in new fields while making use of the corporate law experience described above.
